ANDREW NICKSON Introduction The Eastern Border Region (EBR) of Paraguay (defined as the present-day administrative Departments of Amambay, Canendiyti and Alto Parana) is one of the few remaining frontier zones suitable for intensive agricultural development in the southern cone of Latin America. Given the rarity of PCD, patients often face difficulties in accessing specialized care4 and may rely more heavily on online information compared to those with more common conditions.
