DTIC ADA563772: AR Alternative Splicing and Prostate Cancer Progression | Androgen depletion therapy for advanced prostate cancer (PCa) invariably fails, and PCa recurs with an aggressive and lethal castration-resistant (CR) phenotype. Although androgen depletion inhibits activity of the androgen receptor (AR), continued AR function is important for resistance to androgen depletion. Therefore, even though this stage of the disease is often referred to as androgen-independent (AI), CRPCa remains an AR-dependent disease. Recently, alternatively-spliced, COOHterminally truncated AR isoform variants have been identified in CRPCa cells and clinical tissues. These isoform variants function as constitutively active AR transcription factors that can support the CRPCa phenotype in model systems. The purpose of this project is to understand the mechanisms underlying increased expression and activity of these truncated AR isoform variants in CRPCa. Our work provides the first evidence that structural alterations in the AR gene may underlie disrupted AR splicing pattern; | 2012 | 2018-09-02T23:27:26Z |
Halo Reach Assault Rifle MA37 (With decals, stand, and instructions!) (4281103) | This is the MA37 ICWS, the UNSC Army's standard issue weapon and the assault rifle from Halo: Reach! It's in 1:1 scale, measuring at just about 38 inches long. This model was originally created by misterchiefcostuming, however after printing and making his model I felt that it was missing some important details and also found some issues with the 3D model itself. I also thought that, as I had made the model, including some more detailed instructions along with the resources I created/used would nice, so here we are. The original model is fantastic though, so please like/support his work as well! You can find his model in the remix section on this one. This model includes the instructions for printing, assembly, painting, and weathering which can be found below. I've also included the decal sheet I made and the display stand I modeled for this prop. I also included the full model if you want to use it for something else, however be warned that it will have un-printable mesh issues that ; | 2020 | 2021-03-19T14:07:34Z |

Formation of Lignans(-)-Secoisolariciresinol and (-)-Matairesinol with Forsythia intermedia Cell-Free Extracts | In vivo labeling experiments of Forsythia intermedia plant tissue with [8-(C-14)]- and [9,9-(2)H2,OC(2)H3]coniferyl alcohols revealed that the lignans, (-)-secoisolariciresinol and (-)-matairesinol, were derived from two coniferyl alcohol molecules; no evidence for the formation of the corresponding ()-enantiomers was found. Administration of (/-)-[Ar-(H-3)] secoisolariciresinols to excised shoots of F.intermedia resulted in a significant conversion into (-)-matairesinol; again, the ()-antipode was not detected. Experiments using cell-free extracts of F.intermedia confirmed and extended these findings. In the presence of NAD(P)H and H2O2, the cell-free extracts catalyzed the formation of (-)- secoisolariciresinol, with either [8-(C-14)]- or [9,9-(2)H2,OC(2)H3]coniferyl alcohols as substrates. The ()- enantiomer was not formed. Finally, when either (-)-[Ar-(H-3)] or (/-)-[Ar-(H-2)]secoisolariciresinols were used as substrates, in the presence of NAD(P), only (-)- and not ()-matairesinol; | 1991 | 2011-05-23T11:28:47Z |

A comprehensive set of elemental abundances in damped Ly-alpha systems: revealing the nature of these high-redshift galaxies | By combining our UVES-VLT spectra of a sample of four damped Ly-alpha systems (DLAs) toward the quasars Q0100+13, Q1331+17, Q2231-00 and Q2343+12 with the existing HIRES-Keck spectra, we covered the total spectral range from 3150 to 10000 A for the four quasars. This large wavelength coverage and the high quality of the spectra allowed us to measure the column densities of up to 21 ions, namely of 15 elements - N, O, Mg, Al, Si, P, S, Cl, Ar, Ti, Cr, Mn, Fe, Ni, Zn. Such a large amount of information is necessary to constrain the photoionization and dust depletion effects, two important steps in order to derive the intrinsic chemical abundance patterns of DLAs. We evaluated the photoionization effects with the help of the Al+/Al++, Fe+/Fe++, N0/N+ and Ar/Si,S ratios, and computed dust corrections. Our analysis revealed that the DLA toward Q2343+12 requires important ionization corrections. The access to the complete series of relatively robust intrinsic elemental abundances in the othe; | 2003 | 2013-09-23T01:41:26Z |

CIA Reading Room cia-rdp78-01617a006000010060-5: (UNTITLED) | APR 194 Approved For ReleT012C19 State Dept. declassification & release instructions on file GENERAL 1. US assurances to Arab states urged? --'he US Consulate General in Jerusalem suggests that, in order to restore peace in Palestine and long-term stability in the Middle East, the US should give assurances to the Arab states that the US is prepared to make strongest representations to Israel against the threat or use of force both during and after the 26 April peace negotiations at Lausanne. The Consulate believes that such assurances are necessary in order to restore Arab confidence and to free the Arabs from fear of the kind of military pressure they experienced during the recent armistice negotiations. The Consulate adds that postponement until September of the Israeli ap- plication for UN membership would demonstrate to Israel that it cannot continue to ignore world opinion with impunity. 2.
