However, the effects of β-HB on stomach injuries have not been explored. To elucidate the possible effects of exogenous β-HB on the stomach, mice were injected intraperitoneally with β-HB, and bovine abomasum smooth muscle cells (BSMCs) were treated with different concentrations of β-HB. Elucidating RUNX protein interactions will help extend our understanding of their roles in normal development and tumorigenesis. We show here that PP2A-B55 is the enzyme responsible for dephosphorylating pEndos during M phase exit. The kinetic parameters for PP2A-B55’s action on pEndos are orders of magnitude lower than those for CDK-phosphorylated substrates, suggesting a simple model for PP2A-B55 regulation that we call inhibition by unfair competition. The transcriptional regulator c-Myc has been implicated in estrogen-induced mitogenesis and we are therefore investigating the contribution of c-Myc to various downstream molecular and cellular events after estrogen stimulation. We have now developed a series of cell lines expressing c-Myc and mutants lacking one or both of the conserved 'Myc boxes' required for transcriptional regulation activity, under the control of an inducible promoter. Ongoing experiments are examining whether these mutants can mimic the effects of estrogen in activating cyclin E-Cdk2 and inducing cell cycle progression.
