Tagging French Without Lexical Probabilities -- Combining Linguistic Knowledge And Statistical LearningThis paper explores morpho-syntactic ambiguities for French to develop a strategy for part-of-speech disambiguation that a) reflects the complexity of French as an inflected language, b) optimizes the estimation of probabilities, c) allows the user flexibility in choosing a tagset. The problem in extracting lexical probabilities from a limited training corpus is that the statistical model may not necessarily represent the use of a particular word in a particular context. In a highly morphologically inflected language, this argument is particularly serious since a word can be tagged with a large number of parts of speech. Due to the lack of sufficient training data, we argue against estimating lexical probabilities to disambiguate parts of speech in unrestricted texts. Instead, we use the strength of contextual probabilities along with a feature we call ``genotype'', a set of tags associated with a word. Using this knowledge, we have built a part-of-speech tagger that combines linguisti;19972013-09-18T15:26:32Z

The reference requested that we consider an appropriate course of action for Mr. McCone to take with reference to the use of international telephone service for passing classified information between the Presidential party at Nassau and senior U.S. officials in Washington. 2. The ideal solution to this problem is to provide the whole Presidential party, including all his advisors, with encrypted telephone and teletype facilities so that the use of normal telephone service is unnecessary. In the case of Nassau, the encrypted teletype service was very good but the encrypted telephone service (KY-9) did not work because the circuitry to Nassau was not of sufficient quality to support a KY-9 communications link. Maximum Weight Independent Set in lClaw-Free Graphs in Polynomial TimeThe Maximum Weight Independent Set (MWIS) problem is a well-known NP-hard problem. For graphs $G_1, G_2$, $G_1+G_2$ denotes the disjoint union of $G_1$ and $G_2$, and for a constant $l \ge 2$, $lG$ denotes the disjoint union of $l$ copies of $G$. A {\em claw} has vertices $a,b,c,d$, and edges $ab,ac,ad$. MWIS can be solved for claw-free graphs in polynomial time; the first two polynomial time algorithms were introduced in 1980 by \cite{Minty1980,Sbihi1980}, then revisited by \cite{NakTam2001}, and recently improved by \cite{FaeOriSta2011,FaeOriSta2014}, and by \cite{NobSas2011,NobSas2015} with the best known time bound in \cite{NobSas2015}. Furthermore MWIS can be solved for the following extensions of claw-free graphs in polynomial time: fork-free graphs \cite{LozMil2008}, $K_2$+claw-free graphs \cite{LozMos2005}, and apple-free graphs \cite{BraLozMos2010,BraKleLozMos2008}. This manuscript shows that for any constant $l$, MWIS can be solved for $l$claw-free graphs in polynomial time. ;20162018-06-29T10:11:28Z

Local well-posedness of Yang-Mills equations in Lorenz gauge below the energy normWe prove that the Yang-Mills equations in the Lorenz gauge (YM-LG) is locally well-posed for data below the energy norm, in particular, we can take data for the gauge potential $A$ and the associated curvature $F$ in $H^s\times H^{s-1}$ and $H^r\times H^{r-1}$ for $s=(\frac67+,-\frac1{14} +)$, respectively. This extends a recent by Selberg and the present author on the local well-posedness of YM-LG for finite energy data (specifically, for $(s, r)=(1-, 0)$). We also prove unconditional uniqueness of the energy class solution, that is, uniqueness in the classical space $C([-T, T]; X_0)$, where $X_0$ is the energy data space. The key ingredient in the proof is the fact that most bilinear terms in YM-LG contain null structure some of which uncovered in the present paper.20142018-06-30T06:35:00Z

Extra Clearance Phone Stand (4350566)I needed a phone stand that is reasonably universal and solved three issues. 1. I wanted the bottom of the phone to be completely uncovered so that headphone jacks, charging ports, and speakers would not be affected. 2. I needed enough clearance beneath the phone for the long cable ends of my headphones and usb-c adapter. 3. I wanted to be able to easily dock and remove the phone without unplugging the cables. The phone is angled to 60deg. Compatible with phone widths of 65mm-86mm. Though the extreme ends of this spectrum probably wouldn't work that well. The supports for the bottom of the phone are angled in order to center the phone by making contact with each of the bottom corners. There is a lip on the corner supports to prevent the phone from slipping out towards you. A slight revision was made to the model which is not captured in the photos. I added additional forward support to make the stand more stable. I've included the Fusion 360, .step, and .stl files. Enjoy!20202021-04-05T08:13:53Z
