| Lid for DoogieLabs' CR-10S bowden drive with guide and filament sensing (2770180) | Printed as-is in Gembird PETG (Dutch manufacturer) at 235°C with 80°C heated bed, "Everyday" brand (generic) hairspray on a 300x300 mirror directly on top of the aluminium plate. 50 mm/s worked fine for me, YMMV. Has a 2° taper on the part that goes inside the sensor housing, and fits in just fine at 100% on my printer. It's not loose, but it is easy to remove, so you may want to oversize to 101% or 102% to make it a tighter fit. The reason the actual extruder parts aren't shown in the picture is because, as you can see in the second picture, it's mounted directly above my hot end to turn the printer into a makeshift direct drive-alike. The reason it's not color coordinated is because I was testing different filaments and wasn't sure how well this would work yet. | 2018 | 2021-01-18T09:09:07Z |

| NASA Technical Reports Server (NTRS) 19860022230: The effect of variations of cobalt content on the cyclic oxidation resistance of selected Ni-base superalloys | Cobalt levels were systematically varied in the Ni-base turbine alloys U-700 (cast), U-700m(PM/HIP), Waspaloy, Mar-M-247, In-738, Nimonic-115, U-720, and SX-R-150. The cobalt levels ranged from 0 wt % to the nominal commercial content in each alloy. The alloys were tested in cyclic oxidation in static air at 1000, 1100 and 1150 C for 500, 200 and 100 hr respectively. An oxidation attack parameter, Ka derived from the specific weight change versus time data was used to evaluate the oxidation behavior of the alloys along with X-ray diffraction analysis of the surface oxides. The alloys tend to form either Cr2O3/chromite spinel or Al2O3/aluminate spinel depending on the CR/Al ratio in the alloys. Alloys with a ratio of 3.5 or higher tend to favor the Cr oxides while those under 3.0 form mostly Al oxides. In general the Al2O3/aluminate spinel forming alloys have the better oxidation resistance. Increased cobalt content lowers the scaling resistance of the higher Cr alloys while a 5.0 wt % ; | 1986 | 2016-09-17T11:03:39Z |
| NASA Technical Reports Server (NTRS) 19830006396: Electromagnetic studies of redox systems for energy storage | Both chromium and iron couples were studied on various electrode surfaces in acidic perchlorate solution by using rotating ring-disk techniques. It was found that chloride which forms inner sphere coordination complexes with the redox species enhances the electrode kinetics dramatically. The effects of lead underpotential deposition and surface alloy formation on the kinetics of the chromium couple on gold were studied using both linear sweep voltammetry and potential step techniques. The lad underpotential deposition was found to slow down the kinetics of the reduction of the Cr species on gold surfaces although increase the hydrogen overvoltage. The effect on the chromium kinetics can be explained in terms of principally a double layer effect. The underpotential deposition lead species with its positive charge results in a decrease in the concentration of the Cr species at the electrode surface. Similar phenomena were also observed with bismuth underpotential deposition on gold for t; | 1981 | 2016-08-12T09:50:05Z |
| NASA Technical Reports Server (NTRS) 19830016367: The effects of Ni, Mo, Ti and Si on the mechanical properties of Cr free Mn steel (Fe-25Mn-5Al-2C) | The FeMnAlC alloys may hold potential as Cr-free replacements for high strategic material iron base superalloys, but little is known about their intermediate temperature (650 C to 870 C) mechanical properties. The effects of alloying elements on the mechanical properties of model FeMnAlC alloys were studied. Results showed that modified FeMnAlC alloys had promising short term, intermediate temperature properties but had relatively poor stress rupture lives at 172 MPa and 788 C. Room temperature and 788 C tensile strength of FeMnAlC alloys were better than common cast stainless steels. Changes in room temperature tensile and 788 C tensile strength and ductility, and 788 C stress rupture life were correlated with changes in Ni, Mo, Ti, and Si levels due to alloying effects on interstitial carbon levels and carbide morphology. Fe-25Mn-5Al-2C had a very poor stress rupture life at 172 MPa and 788 C. Addition of carbide-forming elements improved the stress rupture life. | 1982 | 2016-08-16T01:59:10Z |
| NASA Technical Reports Server (NTRS) 19850013295: Evaluation results of the 700 deg C Chinese strain gauges. [for gas turbine engine] | Gauges fabricated from specially developed Fe-Cr-Al-V-Ti-Y alloy wire in the Republic of China were evaluated for use in static strain measurement of hot gas turbine engines. Gauge factor variation with temperature, apparent strain, and drift were included. Results of gauge factor versus temperature tests show gauge factor decreasing with increasing temperature. The average slope is -3-1/2 percent/100 K, with an uncertainty band of + or - 8 percent. Values of room temperature gauge factor for the Chinese and Kanthal A-1 gauges averaged 2.73 and 2.12, respectively. The room temperature gauge factor of the Chinese gauges was specified to be 2.62. The apparent strain data for both the Chinese alloy and Kanthal A-1 showed large cycle to cycle nonrepeatability. All apparent strain curves had a similar S-shape, first going negative and then rising to positive value with increasing temperatures. | NASA Technical Reports Server (NTRS) 19850010763: Effects of MAR-M247 substrate (modified) composition on coating oxidation coating/substrate interdiffusion. M.S. Thesis. Final Report; [protective coatings for hot section components of gas turbine engines] | The effects of gamma+gamma' Mar-M247 substrate composition on gamma+beta Ni-Cr-Al-Zr coating oxidation and coating/substrate interdiffusion were evaluated. These results were also compared to a prior study for a Ni-Cr-Al-Zr coated gamma Ni-Cr-Al substrate with equivalent Al and Cr atomic percentages. Cyclic oxidation behavior at 1130 C was investigated using change in weight curves. Concentration/distance profiles were measured for Al, Cr, Co, W, and Ta. The surface oxides were examined by X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy. The results indicate that variations of Ta and C concentrations in the substrate do not affect oxidation resistance, while additions of grain boundary strengthening elements (Zr, Hf, B) increase oxidation resistance. In addition, the results indicate that oxidation phenomena in gamma+beta/gamma+gamma' Mar-M247 systems have similar characteristics to the l gamma+beta/gamma Ni-Cr-Al system. | 1985 | 2016-09-13T09:05:58Z |
| NASA Technical Reports Server (NTRS) 19730017799: Development of dispersion strengthened nickel-chromium alloy (Ni-Cr-ThO2) sheet for space shuttle vehicles, part 2 | Two dispersion strengthened nickel base alloy systems were developed for use at temperatures up to 1204 C(2200 F); TD nickel chromium (TDNiCr) and TD nickel chromium aluminum (TDNiCrA1). They are considered candidate materials for use on the thermal protection systems of the space shuttle and for long term use in aircraft gas turbine engine applications. Improved manufacturing processes were developed for the fabrication of TDNiCr sheet and foil to specifications. Sheet rolling process studies and extrusion studies were made on two aluminum containing alloys: Ni-16%Cr-3.5%A1-2%ThO2 and Ni-16%Cr-5.0%A12%ThO2. | NASA Technical Reports Server (NTRS) 19850026526: Cosmic ray modulation in a random anisotropic magnetic field | Inhomogeneities of the interplanetary magnetic field can be divided into small scale and large scale ones as may be required by the character of the problem of cosmic ray (CR) propagation. CR propagation in stochastic magnetic fields is of diffusion character. The main contribution into the scattering of CR particles is made by their interaction with inhomogeneities of the magnetic field H which have characteristic dimensions 1 of the order of Larmor radius R=cp/eH of particle (p is the absolute value of particle momentum, e is particle charge, c is velocity of light). Scattering of particles on such inhomogeneities leads to their diffusion mostly along a magnetic field with characteristic dimensions of variation in space exceeding the mean free path. | 1985 | 2016-09-13T21:35:23Z |
| NASA Technical Reports Server (NTRS) 19900009243: Identification of a cast iron alloy containing nonstrategic elements | A program was performed to address the mechanical and environmental needs of Stirling engine heater head and regenerator housing components, while reducing the dependence on strategic materials. An alloy was developed which contained no strategic elemental additions per se. The base is iron with additions of manganese, molybdenum, carbon, silicon, niobium, and ferro-chromium. Such an alloy should be producible on a large scale at very low cost. The resulting alloy, designated as NASAUT 4G-Al, contained 15 Mn, 15 Cr, 2 Mo, 1.5 C, 1.0 Si, 1.0 Nb (in weight percent) with a balance of Fe. This alloy was optimized for chemistry, based upon tensile strength, creep-rupture strength, fracture behavior, and fatigue resistance up to 800 C. Alloys were also tested for environmental compatibility. The microstructure and mechanic properties (including hardness) were assessed in the as-cast condition and following several heat treatments, including one designed to simulate a required braze cycle. | NASA Technical Reports Server (NTRS) 20170000388: Streamlining the Design Tradespace for Earth Imaging Constellations | Satellite constellations and Distributed Spacecraft Mission (DSM) architectures offer unique benefits to Earth observation scientists and unique challenges to cost estimators. The Cost and Risk (CR) module of the Tradespace Analysis Tool for Constellations (TAT-C) being developed by NASA Goddard seeks to address some of these challenges by providing a new approach to cost modeling, which aggregates existing Cost Estimating Relationships (CER) from respected sources, cost estimating best practices, and data from existing and proposed satellite designs. Cost estimation through this tool is approached from two perspectives: parametric cost estimating relationships and analogous cost estimation techniques. The dual approach utilized within the TAT-C CR module is intended to address prevailing concerns regarding early design stage cost estimates, and offer increased transparency and fidelity by offering two preliminary perspectives on mission cost. Exposures were carried out in a custom-built Iodine Vapor RIG (IVR) at 300 degrees C to an iodine laminar vapor flow of 1 mg min(exp. -1), carried by 145 mL-min(exp. -1) argon gas, for 5, 15 and 30 days. Samples were characterized before and after the experiment by gravimetric analysis, X-ray diffraction (XRD) and cross section electron microscopy analysis coupled with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS). All steels exposed for 30 days formed scales consisting mainly of metal (Cr, Fe, Ni) oxides showing different chemistry, microstructure and crystalline phases. | NASA Technical Reports Server (NTRS) 20160002381: Assessing the Formation of Ungrouped Achondrite Northwest Africa 8186: Residue | The recent discoveries of primitive achondrites, metachondrites, and type 7 chondrites challenge the long held idea that all chondrites and achondrites form on separate parent bodies. These meteorites have experienced metamorphic temperatures above petrologic type 6 and have partially melted to various degrees. However, because of their isotopic and compositional similarities to both undifferentiated and differentiated groups, the provenance of these 'type 6+' meteorites remains largely unknown. CK and CV chondrites have recently been linked to a few achondrites due to their strong compositional, mineralogical, and isotopic similarities], suggesting a common origin between these meteorites. | NASA Technical Reports Server (NTRS) 20080014318: The Chronology of Asteroid Accretion, Differentiation, and Secondary Mineralization | We evaluate initial (Al-26/Al-27)(sub I), (Mn-53/Mn-55)(sub I), (Hf-182/Hf-180)(sub I), and Pb-207/Pb-206 ages for igneous differentiated meteorites and chondrules from ordinary chondrites for consistency with radioactive decay of the parent nuclides within a common, closed isotopic system, i.e., the early solar nebula. We find that the relative abundances of Al-26, Mn-53, and Hf-182, here denoted by I(Al)(sub CAI, I(Mn)(sub CAI) and I(Hf)(sub CAI), are consistent with decay from common initial values for the bulk solar system. I(Mn)(sub CAI) and I(Hf)(sub CAI) = 9.1+/-1.7 x 10(exp -6) and 1.06+/-0.09 x 10(exp -6) respectively, correspond to the canonical value of I(Al)(sub CAI) = 5.1 x 10(exp -5). I(Hf)(sub CAI) thus determined is consistent with I(Hf)(sub CAI) = 1.003+/-0.045 x 10(exp -6) directly determined in separate work. | NASA Technical Reports Server (NTRS) 20010059237: Burner Rig Hot Corrosion of Five Ni-Base Alloys Including Mar-M247 | The hot corrosion resistance of four new Ni-base superalloys was compared to that of Mar-M247 by testing in a Mach 0.3 burner rig at 900 C for 300 1-hr cycles. While the Al content was held the same as in the Mar-M247, the Cr and Co levels in the four new alloys were decreased while other strengthening elements (Re, Ta) were increased. Surprisingly, despite their lower Cr and Co contents, the hot corrosion behavior of all four new alloys was superior to that of the Mar-M247 alloy. The Mar-M247 alloy began to lose weight almost immediately whereas the other four alloys appeared to undergo an incubation period of 50-150 1-hr cycles. Examination of the cross-sectional microstructures showed regions of rampant corrosion attack (propagation stage) in all five alloys after 300 1-hr cycles . This rampant corrosion morphology was similar for each of the alloys with Ni and Cr sulfides located in an inner subscale region. | NASA Technical Reports Server (NTRS) 20140010382: The Virtual Observatory Service TheoSSA: Establishing a Database of Synthetic Stellar Flux Standards I. NLTE Spectral Analysis of the DA-Type White Dwarf G191-B2B *,**,***,**** | Hydrogen-rich, DA-type white dwarfs are particularly suited as primary standard stars for flux calibration. State-of-the-art NLTE models consider opacities of species up to trans-iron elements and provide reliable synthetic stellar-atmosphere spectra to compare with observations. Aims. We will establish a database of theoretical spectra of stellar flux standards that are easily accessible via a web interface. Methods. In the framework of the Virtual Observatory, the German Astrophysical Virtual Observatory developed the registered service TheoSSA. It provides easy access to stellar spectral energy distributions (SEDs) and is intended to ingest SEDs calculated by any model-atmosphere code. In case of the DA white dwarf G191-B2B, we demonstrate that the model reproduces not only its overall continuum shape but also the numerous metal lines exhibited in its ultraviolet spectrum. Results. | NASA Technical Reports Server (NTRS) 19770022206: Improved high pressure turbine shroud | A new high pressure turbine shroud material has been developed from the consolidation of prealloyed powders of Ni, Cr, Al and Y. The new material, a filler for cast turbine shroud body segments, is called Genaseal. The development followed the identification of oxidation resistance as the primary cause of prior shroud deterioration, since conversion to oxides reduces erosion resistance and increases spalling under thermal cycled engine conditions. The NICrAlY composition was selected in preference to NIAL and FeCRALY alloys, and was formulated to a prescribed density range that offers suitable erosion resistance, thermal conductivity and elastic modulus for improved behavior as a shroud. | 1977 | 2016-07-26T18:49:30Z |
| NASA Technical Reports Server (NTRS) 19740013021: Comparison of isothermal and cyclic oxidation behavior of twenty-five commercial sheet alloys at 1150 C | The cyclic and isothermal oxidation resistance of 25 high-temperature Ni-, Co-, and Fe-base sheet alloys after 100 hours in air at 1150 C was compared. The alloys were evaluated in terms of their oxidation, scaling, and vaporization rates and their tendency for scale spallation. These values were used to develop an oxidation rating parameter based on effective thickness change, as calculated from a mass balance. The calculated thicknesses generally agreed with the measured values, including grain boundary oxidation, to within a factor of 3. Oxidation behavior was related to composition, particularly Cr and Al content. | 1974 | 2016-07-13T22:46:59Z |
| NASA Technical Reports Server (NTRS) 19730003128: Comet Encke: Meteor metallic ion identification by mass spectrometer | Metal ions including Na-40(+), Mg-24(+), Si-28(+), K-39(+), Ca-40(+), Sc-45(+), Cr-52(+), Fe-56(+), and Ni-58(+) were detected in the upper atmosphere during the beta Taurids meteor shower. Abundances of these ions relative to Si(+) show agreement in most instances with chondrites. A notable exception is 45(+), which is Sc(+), is 100 times more abundant than neutral scandium found in chondrites. | 1972 | 2016-07-09T16:03:00Z |

| ERIC ED455858: The Influence of Term Length on Student Success. | This document describes a study of term length and student success at Santa Monica College in California. Based on past feedback and enrollment data, the college had determined that the compressed sessions (6week, 8week) offered at the college, in addition to the regular 16-week semester, were popular with both students and faculty. This study sought to determine the relationship between compressed courses and student success, which is defined as earning an A, B, C or Cr in a course. A total of 414,076 student enrollments in term lengths of 6, 8, and 16-week courses were studied, covering the period between fall 1998 and winter 2001, of which 77% were 16 week enrollments, 17% 6-week enrollments and 6% 8-week enrollments. Overall, the study found that students have higher success rates in the shorter-term courses as well as higher average grades and lower withdrawal rates with 6-week courses than 8-week courses, and both had better success rates than 16-week courses. | ERIC ED471951: How To Use Differentiated Instruction with Students with Developmental Disabilities in the General Education Classroom. DDD Prism Series. | This book discusses how educators can achieve inclusive classrooms that give students with different abilities the maximum opportunity for growth. It provides frameworks for planning learning environments, content, process, and products that enable students with learning challenges to succeed with meaningful curriculum. Decision-making guidelines are offered for teachers who must work with standardized curriculum and non-standardized students. In addition, the book give detailed examples of how the curricular and instructional frameworks would look when applied to the learning needs of students with a range of learning needs and in a range of grade levels and subjects. Specifically, chapters address: (1) the inclusion philosophy and what is meant by differentiated instruction; (2) the relationships between curriculum and instruction and the Planning Pyramid Model for differentiating instruction in the inclusive classroom; (3) learning environment considerations, including optimal class; | 2002 | 2016-01-15T16:38:08Z |
| ERIC ED396332: A Pragmatic Reconstruction of the Postmodern Impasse: The Resounding Relevance of John Dewey's Tacit Tradition. | The issue of agency bedevils contemporary composition theorists and practitioners. In theory, scholars such as Lester Faigley, James Berlin, and Patricia Bizzell have critiqued the foundation priority of thought to language, yet their emphasis on language has cast disturbing doubts on the origins of an individual's thoughts. In practice, the postmodern emphasis on social discourses has created some troubling assumptions about what composition students can and should do with language. Pragmatic philosophy begins with the principle known as the primacy of experience. An individual can develop knowledge from experience according to John Dewey's principle: the constructive process of knowing. Deweyan pragmatism is being practiced by writing process advocates such as Peter Elbow and Donald Murray who have been often labeled as atheoretical practitioners. The pragmatist rationale for many of Elbow's and Murray's most effective pedagogical practices reflect the relevance of Deweyan pragmatism; | 1996 | 2015-12-14T20:24:25Z |
