This 16 g "rocklet" was collected at Station 13 on the ejecta blanket of North Ray Crater at the foot of Smoky Mountain [2]. Originally classified as a Very High Alumina (VHA) basalt on geochemical grounds [3], it was later argued to be an impact melt rock [4]. Here we report a Rb-Sr and Sm-Nd isotopic study that shows that some portions of the rock failed to reach isotopic equilibrium on last melting in agreement with the impact melt rock interpretation. Nevertheless, by omitting mineral fractions that are discordant with the majority of the data, we arrive at the time of last melting as 3.88 plus or minus 0.05 Ga ago. This age is in agreement with the Ar-39/Ar-40 plateau age of 3839 plus or minus 23 Ma [5], if the latter is adjusted for the ~1.4-1.8% revision in the age of the hornblende monitor [6]. Three irradiation modes were used: (1) 2 x 10 to the 24th power neutrons/m square (E 1 MeV) irradiated at 150 degrees C; not annealed. After landing, it returned composition data of gases evaporated from the surface. Height profiles of molecular nitrogen (N2), methane (CH4) and molecular hydrogen (H2) were determined. Traces were detected on the surface of evaporating methane, ethane (C2H6), acetylene (C2H2), cyanogen (C2N2) and carbon dioxide (CO2). The methane data showed evidence that methane precipitation occurred recently. The methane mole fraction was (1.48+/-0.09) x 10(exp -2) in the lower stratosphere (139.8 km to 75.5 km) and (5.65+/-0.18) x 10(exp -2) near the surface (6.7 km to the surface). An increased risk of higher stage, more aggressive prostate cancer is associated with a more active androgen receptor (AR) . We are investigating and innovative transcription based mechanism that represses AR activity in vitro. Our hypothesis is that the tumor suppressor gene, WTl, may play a role in prostate tumorigenesis mediated by repression of AR gene expression. To validate our AR promoter data we demonstrated that AR target gene down-regulation by WTl is dependent on an intact DNA binding domain, is mediated by AR and is hormone dependent. | NASA Technical Reports Server (NTRS) 19970005489: The Magnetic Evolution of AR 6555 which led to Two Impulsive, Relatively Compact, X-Type Flares | We study the evolution of the vector magnetic field and the sunspot motions observed in AR 6555 during 1991 March 23-26. This region displays two locations of large magnetic shear that were also sites of flare activity. The first location produced two large (X-class) flares during the period covered by our observations. The second location had larger magnetic shear than the first but produced only small (M- and C-class) flares during our observations. We study the evolution of the photospheric magnetic field in relation to the large flares in the first location. These flares occurred around the same included polarity and have very similar characteristics (soft X-ray light curves, energies, etc,). However, the whole active region has changed substantially in the period between them. However, in the long term, transplant recipients suffer substantial complications, such as infections, cardiovascular disease (CVD) and cancer. Among these long-term complications, cancer incidence has risen due to enhanced cumulative immunosuppression exposure [1] and broadening transplant eligibility criteria for elderly recipients [2]. These factors increase the overall cancer risk by approximately 2-4 times in transplant recipients compared to the age and gender-matched general population. The cumulative survival after cancer diagnosis at 5- and 10-years post-transplant is only 50% and 20%, respectively [3]. It is also known that the light bridges appear in the assembling process of nascent sunspots. The ultimate goal of this series of papers is to reveal the nature of light bridges in developing ARs and the occurrence of activity events associated with the light bridge structures from both observational and numerical approaches. In this first paper, exploiting the observational data obtained by Hinode, IRIS, and Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO), we investigate the detailed structure of the light bridge in NOAA AR 11974 and its dynamic activity phenomena.
